James D. Williams, LCSW, LCADC, C-SSW, CCTP (he/him/his)

A two-time, first-generation college student, “JW” completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at Kean University in 2014 and Master of Social Work degree at Rutgers University in 2017. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Substance Use Counselor (LCADC) and a Certified School Social Worker (C-SSW) in NJ and a LCSW in NY. He is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CTTP) and is enrolled in a Post-Masters Certification program with Somatic Experiencing® International. As an Intermediate-level student within the SE™ program, he integrates SE™ techniques into his practice. He leans on the evidence-based Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and the empirical based Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).

JW plays 7 instruments, spends time writing, traveling, watching all things Marvel & DC, and is a supporter of anything related to the Dragon Ball series. He enjoys playing puzzles, archery, photography, playing HALO, and learning Spanish. He hopes to become fluent in speaking Spanish for both professional and personal reasons. He spent five years learning Spanish between both middle and high school, half a year working with a Spanish tutor between 2017 to 2018, and using the Duolingo language learning app. By July 16, 2022, JW completed his 405-day streak on Duolingo before signing up, and working with, Spanish Coach Kaywanda Lamb in her 12-week Spanish For Small Businesses program.
